We traveled to Bariloche Argentina from Pucon Chile via Buquebus. We were a little nervous about it since we were crossing country boarders, but it all went surprisingly smooth! Once we got over the boarder into Argentina we had to get off for a "layover" before we transferred to our second bus which took us all the way to Bariloche.
The drive into Bariloche was one of the most beautiful drive's I've ever experienced. We were driving through what seemed like the dessert (our bus had to pull over to cool down at one point) then all the sudden came up on all these bodies of water in the 7 lakes district.
Once we got to Bariloche we realized we never converted our money into the Argentine peso. Therefore we were unable to take a cab to our hotel. Bariloche reminds me somewhat of San Francisco. All hills. As you can imagine this was one of the downers of traveling and a lesson learned for sure!
The trek up to the hotel was a doozy, but once we got to the Tangoinn Hotel it was all worth it. The view from our hotel was absolutely stunning!
Bariloche was full of good food and great beer. One of our favorite restaurants while we were there was Bachmann, we went there twice during our stay. They had great beer to try, which was Nathan's favorite part, as well as good food. Side note - We were obsessed with the peanuts they provide on the table. They were addicting and will ruin their your appetite!
One of our biggest regrets from Bariloche was not going to the Patagonia Brewery. A handful of people told us to visit here but logistically it didn't work out. We found out about it too late and the best way to get there was through the public transportation. So if you are planning a trip to Bariloche, plan ahead and go to the brewery!
We also would have liked to do some hiking while in Bariloche, but just didn't have the time. Pro's and con's of seeing so many cities in one trip! Our big excursion while in Bariloche was a horseback riding tour we took through Viator Tours.
This was about two hours of horseback riding in between the mountains. The views were stunning and afterwards we sat down for a traditional barbecue back at the ranch.
The rest of the time we spend traveling the streets of Bariloche and sitting down by the water. I didn't realize how much I would love this city until after we went there! I would totally go back.
As our time in Bariloche came to an end we packed our bags and flew out to Buenos Aires where we spent the longest duration of time. Check out our thoughts on Buenos Aires, Argentina Here!
