Float Trip

The summer of 2015 was by far one of my favorite summers to date. A bunch of my college friends stayed in Peoria for the summer weather it be for classes, internships, or just for fun. We hung out all day and night with little to no responsibilities and we had the time of our lives.

One weekend a few friends and my current boyfriend decided that it was going to be such a hot weekend we needed to do something refreshing to cool us down so we decided to go on a float trip. Little did I know this was going to be the first of many.

Floating is now one of my favorite summer activities. It's relaxing, cheap and most of all fun!

What you need: (it can all be found on Amazon)

  • Floats: Be as creative as you want, anything goes!

This one is 2 for $20 on Amazon!

If you're anything like me and hate having your feet open to all the fishies this one is perfect. Plus the cup holders are always important!

Get as creative with your floaties as you'd like!

  • A cooler: If it floats, even better!

This one is awesome because you can throw your drinks and ice directly in there, or you can put your entire cooler in there! Also, again... cup holders!!

  • Refreshments: You can't go thirsty!

  • A Speaker: Make sure it's waterproof!

Make sure it's actually waterproof!

  • Good friends: the more the merrier!

A River: arguably the most important

We generally go to the Spoon River in Central Illinois, but we've also seen people going on the Fox River!

Some key notes before you go:

  • Bring extra floats, I have popped a few in my day...

  • Snacks are always a good idea

  • Leave at least one car at the start and at least one car at the end

  • Have Fun!
