Staying Connected While Being Apart

Being abroad for a year means we miss a lot of celebrations. Birthday's, anniversary's, engagements, you name it. Because of this we have had to get creative in how we celebrate with our friends and family.

Below I have listed out five of my favorite companies we've used to help our loved one's feel extra special while we were away!

Greetabl - Greetabl is a company I've been using for years now. They provide you with the ability to customize a small gift box that's sent by mail. You can customize everything from the design on the box, the note inside the box, removable pictures within the box, as well as the gifts inside. You can include a variety of small gifts such as candies, candles, bath bombs, bottle openers and more. You can even complete the gift with a gift card to places such as Panera, Starbucks, and Target to name a few of my favorites. I've most recently sent this out as Birthday gifts over the last few months and they all thought it was such a thoughtful way to show I was thinking about them from half way around the world!

Ink - I love Ink because it's such an easy way to send a post card to everyone on your list. Every few weeks/months I've been sending one of these cards to our family and friends with an update on everything we've been doing throughout our travels. We can personalize it with our own pictures and text and send it to everyone in our address book in just minutes. Each card costs as little as $2!

Boxed - Boxed is one of my favorite services because it's a small business local to Illinois! Boxed makes it easy to send thoughtful gifts to anyone on your list. We've recently used this to send Nate's sister a birthday gift. It's similar to Greetabl, but you can send a larger box filled with more goodies. Best of all, the items you can fill these boxes with are so unique and cute. Some of my favorite item's are their hand towels, cutting boards, travel accessories and coasters. They also have pre-made boxes for those who are less creative in their gift giving!

BoxFox - I first heard of BoxFox through work. One of my co-workers received one as a "Thank You" for a project she worked on with other co-workers. This is similar to Boxed, where you can customize your own box, or pick from their pre-made boxes. Their pre-made kits cover different theme's such as "thank you's," pamper boxes, hustler boxes, housewarming gifts and new families. We've most recently used this service to send Nate's mom a birthday gift and she was so happy with it!

SoChic Boutique - Box of Chic - SoChic is a similar concept to Boxed and Box Fox, but stands out being another local business to Illinois. SoChic has two store's located in the Peoria Illinois area. I first heard of this company while I was in college. The owner of the stores was actually one of my professors! The mail-able boxes that SoChic offers have a wide range from new babies to a "Box of Sunshine" as well as engagement gifts and housewarming gifts to name a few. I've most recently used their services when buying a gift for my sister as she was expecting her first baby. It turned out to be such a cute gift! However, this store is so much more than a mailing gift service. Like I mentioned before, there are two store locations that sell a variety of goodies! If you ever find yourself in the Peoria area I highly suggest checking it out! Otherwise you can search through their inventory online and create your own gift box using their adorable products!

I love using these amazing companies to show my family and friends that we are still thinking of them! I especially love that some of the companies allow me to #shopsmall and #shoplocal. I'd love to hear of any other companies you all have used to send love from a distance!

Thanks for reading!

Jen
