Let me tell you a little bit about who we are and how @KJGifts came to be.
K&J Gifts is a family run #smallbusiness between my sister Katie and I. Katie is the older sister in the relationship. She was a huge part in getting us up and running between recruiting many friends, family and coworkers to buy some of our products as well as helping not only come up with new products, helping behind the scenes with pricing and operations. Katie and her husband Eric just had their first daughter, Sydney, in April. Besides being a full time mom and a part time small business owner, Katie works as a 911 dispatcher. Sydney is currently training to be K&J Gifts next #maker.
Since we started K&J Gifts I have been focusing on advancing our Facebook, Instagram and now this blog. I have been using my background in marketing to get the word out about our business on a daily basis. In my day job I work as a Measurement Analyst at Allison+Partners, a PR Firm in Chicago. I've always been infatuated with my creative side and had the desire to learn new things whether it be #cricut best practices, the art of using social media for businesses, or teaching myself hand knit a #chunkyknitblanket. Coming up with new products to make on the cricut is a hobby of mine, but I will admit that some of the best ideas come from our customers!
The idea behind @KJGifts came to be almost two years ago when my sister and I got our #cricut. We started by making gifts for our family and friends and it took off from there. People who knew us were asking to buy some of our products. We were constantly being asked for gift ideas, what we've made in the past as well as recommendations for gifts for all different occasions. We started our Facebook and Instagram pages to display all of our work and I have since been doing some research on other ways to promote our ideas and decided that #blogging would be the next stepping stone! Here we will be posting our favorite gift ideas for different occasions, themed decor, project walk troughs, #DIY tutorials and anything else you are all interested in. We love to hear your feedback so don't be shy!
