On our last weekend in February we took a bus to San Miguel De Allende which turned out to be one of our favorite places we've visited.
We arrived in San Miguel late Friday night, checked into our #AirBNB, and went to get something to eat and drink. We asked our hosts where to go and they sent us to Mama Mia. Mama Mia was so fun, they had live music and we were seated right in front of the show!
We ate, drank and before we knew it, it was 1:00 in the morning. We took a quick walk around the square on our way back to our place.
The next morning we had signed up to go horse back riding through Coyote Canyon. We were in a group of about 12-15 people. It was similar to a horseback riding trip we took in Bariloche Argentina, but we had way more scenery here!
We rode through the canyon, into the creek, and up to the top of the canyon.
After we were done horseback riding we went to a local ranch and got lunch. They cooked traditional Mexican food for us, but what was most breathtaking was the view from our table.
After, we went home and got refreshed before we headed over to Luna's Rooftop and Tapa's bar. The view was amazing and the hotel looked really nice. We got a drink with some chips and guac, of course, and just enjoyed the view.
Once we were done there we got some #coffee to give us an energy boost because #horsebackriding really takes it out of you in the hot sun all day! We found a cute little coffee shop on our walk back. Then we changed and went on to our dinner reservations at Quince. San Miguel has got some of the best rooftop's we've ever been to. The view here was stunning, we stayed the whole night. We got some sushi, a few drinks and loved every minute of it.
The next day we walked over to the Mercado De Artesanias because I really wanted some souvenirs. We found some traditional Mexican blankets we've been looking for, a gift for my grandma and enjoyed the bright colors of all the surroundings inside.
We had some time to kill before our 4:30 bus back home so we got some coffee, did some more shopping and then walked around the city. This is one of the most photogenic cities I have ever been to. I couldn't put my camera down.
A nice walk and several photo's later we made our way back to our #airbnb to drop off some souvenirs. We then decided we should get one last meal, a drink, and then be on our way. We went to La Azotea, another rood top, of course. We had some tacos, a few margs and then we're on our way back to Mexico City.
We loved our short time in San Miguel. It's definitely a place we would go back if we ever get the chance, We would love to spend more time there! We saw a lot in just over two short days, but have so much more to explore. You can find more of our pictures from the trip HERE and a video below!
