My Guide to Throwing the Best Zoo Themed Baby Shower

Updated: Aug 26, 2019

In March of this year we threw my sister a baby shower for her first child. She chose not to know the sex of her baby until it was born which led them to picking the Zoo, a gender neutral theme, for the nursery. My mom and I who were throwing this shower together decided that would be a good theme to transfer onto the shower as well that way she could use some of the decorations in the nursery if she would like.

We had so much fun coming up with ideas and turning them into a reality. Let me walk you through some of the final products.

The table's were probably the most fun part of it all. We decided instead of using flowers we created a vase of just greenery to give it a jungle theme. Not only did it turn out adorable but it saved us a ton of money in the end! We printed out water bottle labels as well as silverware wraps with a giraffe print on them which were a huge hit as well.

If you've never been to #garrettspopcorn you need to go! Garrett's is a family favorite so we felt it was the perfect idea for a take home gift for all the guests. We ordered these little green popcorn boxes on amazon and stuck a different zoo animal on each one

My uncle was such a huge help turning our #pinterest dreams into a reality. We sent him a picture of this stuffed animal zoo cage and he built it! It was perfect for people to bring stuffed animals in and fill up as the day went on and now its a beautiful addition to the nursery!

When people first entered the shower we had a #guestbook table for them to stop at. We cut out small onesies with animal prints on the front and laid them out on the table for people to sign. We then asked them to hang them on the "clothes line"with mini clothes pins as a keepsake for the big day. It turned out so cute!

We got so many compliments on the food and drink tables! We used place cards to identify each food as well as a "Don't feed the animals" sign at the beginning of the buffet. As for the Drink table we had a banner that said "Watering Hole" as well as one of our very own #KJGifts name buckets to hold some of the iced drinks. We garnished these tables with more of the greenery and I think it turned out great!

Lastly we had the gift table. Next to the zoo cage and a giraffe themed banner that read "Baby Shower" we built this zoo themed pole. It was a huge hit and is now another adorable decoration for the nursery!

I'm so excited about the way this baby shower turned out and I can't wait for my next chance to plan a themed party! If you are throwing a party for any occasion, feel free to reach out either here, on our Instagram at @KJGifts or on our Facebook page at @KandJpersonalgifts. We're more than happy to brainstorm with you and turn your dreams into a reality!
