This year I have so many wedding showers and bachelorette parties so I knew I had to come up with some creative gifts. I searched on #Etsy, #Instagram and #Pinterest and eventually found this idea. It's a gift basked filled with wine bottles, but the wine bottle labels have been replaced with labels to commemorate big event's in the couple's lives such as their first Christmas, their wedding night, their first anniversary and so on. They also have label sets for other occasions such as new moms! I've given this gift out twice now and had the room crying both times. It's such a sentimental gift, and it's been a huge hit. Below I'll walk you through how I did it!
Materials:
Wine bottles (6) - I got mine from our local grocery store
Labels - They have a bunch of different designs, feel free to look around
Dish Soap
Sink
Towel
I started by soaking all six bottles of wine in the kitchen sink for a half hour to loosen the labels in order to peel them off easier.
Once the labels were off I used my towel to make sure the bottles were completely dry before I started to put my new labels on.
Next was the tedious part. I placed the labels onto the bottles trying to make them as straight as possible while not getting any bubbles in them. I fount it was best to start at a corner, take a glad object such as a credit card and slide it down the label as you peel it off the base and onto the bottle, then smoothing out the bubbles pushing them to the edges with the credit card.
Finding something to wrap these in was hard, I think it looks best in big basket like pictured below, but I ended up using two large boxes to wrap them in for easier travel. It still looked cute when they were opened!
