We started April by going to the Falling Piano Brewery with Christiane. This was a really cool spot with lots of different #craftbeers. They had a many games you could play as well, which was fun!
The next day we went to our first (and probably only) Mexican Baby Shower. It was more of a couple's shower/BBQ. We hung out with a friend from #Texas most the time. He was really interesting to talk to and had a lot of great stories. The games we played at the shower were fun, we started with traditional baby shower games like diaper pong, the price is right, and diaper changing races. As the night went on, and the #tequila kept flowing, the tables turned from baby shower games to drinking games until about 2:00 am when we called it a night.
The next morning we went to get a recovery breakfast at our new favorite place, Freims. We went back the next week because we liked it so much. They have #brunch all day, we've gotten a few of the #waffle options which were all delicious as well as the #avocadotoast. You can't go wrong with just about anything on the menu.
We found ourselves at a great #Italian restaurant the following weekend called Nolita. We wen't a bit earlier than the norm here in #MexicoCity so we were one of the only customers in there, but that meant we got great service! I had the four cheese pasta and Nate got the Lasagna. Both were delicious! The restaurant also had a great atmosphere, it felt like we were sitting in a wine cellar!
On Sunday of that week, the 14th, we took a tour through #Viator which brought us on a day trip to tour Queretaro and then to a vineyard called Puerta Del Lobo.
Querteraro was a one of the #pueblomagicos. We started by taking a ride up the #monolith which is one of the biggest in the world. Afterwards we went down to the city center. The City was colorful with lots of great shopping and food. They are famous for their Pan De Queso which we didn't try because we weren't feeling the best, but we heard some great reviews! After about an hour and a half we headed to the #vineyard.
Puerta Del Lobo was unlike any #winery I've been to. As you walk up to the front you notice that the entire winery restaurant is outdoors lined by rocks that create half walls. It was beautiful. We started with lunch, then walked through the vineyard and the cellar, then had some tastings. The wine was delicious, we ended up buying a couple bottles for our families. Scroll through the photos below to see for yourself!
The next week was Easter so we headed home on Wednesday for the first time since we got to #MexicoCity in January. We were really excited to be home with everyone and enjoy some of the places and people we've been missing. Nate was only home until #Easter Sunday but I stayed until the following weekend so I could be home for my niece, Sydney's, #firstbirthday!
The week Nate got back, two of our friends from college, Jake and Jason, came to visit for a few days. While they were here they toured the Centro Historico, got to know La Condesa, and even made it out to the pyramids.
On the last weekend in April, we all met in #Tulum. You can read about our time in Tulum here and watch a video of our experiences this April below!
