Creamy Shrimp Alfredo Pasta

Living in Cartagena has got us craving seafood a little extra these days. In an attempt to start cooking different recipes to mix it up we got on #pinterest where we got the idea to add some shrimp into our at-home diet!

See below for the recipe and instructions to make this amazing Creamy Shrimp Alfredo Pasta!

Ingredients: (serves 2)

  • 1/8 packet spaghetti

  • 1/2 cup raw king shrimp

  • 1/2 cup double/heavy cream

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • 1/8 tsp black pepper

  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/8 tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley

  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions:

  • Cook the spaghetti according to the packet instructions.

  • When it's cooked, reserve two tablespoons of water then drain the rest but don't rinse the pasta.

  • Melt the butter in a pan over a medium heat, add the chopped garlic, and cook for about 30 seconds then add the shrimp and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side until it turns pink.

  • Remove the shrimp from the pan, add the two tablespoons of water and the cream, bring to a boil.

  • Add the pasta to the pan together with the Parmesan, cooked shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Toss well.

  • Garnish with freshly-chipped parsley.

  • serve hot.

We've made this recipe twice now and loved it both times! I'm by no means an experienced cook and this recipe was easy to follow and turned out great. If you try this recipe yourself, let me know how you like it!
